Not Always Sweet

She did not know just how small her town was until her mom had her sister, Candy. That squealing, painful, devastating birth marked the end of a lot of ignorance for Helena, not the least of which was the existence in this world with a mother. Their father, Crispus, worked two jobs after his wife died, to support the family; John, Amos, Helena and Candy. Support meant money to a man like Crispus, but to children, of course, this has a different meaning.
