Shouting Across

Maybe if I stand
On your shore
Seeing uneven slate, bark, night and glass colored buildings
In front of your watery imminent
I can feel
What he felt
Getting on
And know
How we got here
Heat of Harvard bricks
Sucking greed, affectionate sun glare from your surface
Fishing years past
Salt&Pepper
BC
Bridges try courting you
But denying them
All
Flowing past metal and stone arching, demanding arms, history
When the story ends
We are all with you in the ocean
The last three lines are just fantastic, and I do love a love song to the Hub!
There aren’t enough odes to beantown… She s my lady.
love cities. and water.
and your poems.
thanks
Bridges try courting you
But denying them
All
Flowing past metal and stone arching, demanding arms, history
When the story ends
We are all with you in the ocean
Vivid, brilliant and not at all mooey!!
